I’m not talking about parenting OR perimenopause

Outside the clinic, I'm a proud dance mom. I've spent more than a decade between dance parking lots and competition venues, swapping everything from bun-making tips to the unexpected symptoms of perimenopause with other women. Through tears, laughter, and the right amount of sarcasm, I've seen up close the physical, emotional, and hormonal changes happening to both moms and daughters, at the same time

I combine my nursing expertise, real storytelling, and practical strategies to help moms feel more confident, and build stronger connections, with their daughters and with each other. My mission is simple: to remind you that you are never in this season alone, and that the best tool you have for a stronger relationship with your daughter is a regulated you.

I live in Massachusetts with my husband, my two daughters, and one overanxious Labradoodle. My next book is already in the works, still figuring out how to not just survive this season, but thrive in it.

ABOUT

Hi, I’m Amy.

I'm a pediatric nurse with more than 18 years of experience caring for children, teens, and their families, everything from potty training to finding grief resources. What I love most is taking evidence-based knowledge and translating it into practical, easy-to-understand advice that parents can actually use.

I'm also the author of Hormones and Hairties: The ABCs of Raising Teen Girls Without Losing Your Mind, where I blend my nursing background, my own real life, and strategies that work to help moms feel more confident about the tween and teen years.

WHAT YOU GET

Mom advice with a nursing twist. The research, translated. Real life at 11pm on a Tuesday. And enough honesty that you'll never feel lectured, judged, or handed one more impossible standard.

This started in parking lots.

For years, moms found me, at work, at the dance studio, in the pickup line, and asked the same thing: why is no one talking about what we're going through, and how do we help our girls through theirs? I wrote this because the question kept coming and the answer kept being missing.

I’m not a lecturer. I’m not here to fix your teen. I’m here to help you regulate, because when you do, your teen can too.

WHAT’S AHEAD

This book is the beginning. What's coming is a place where moms find calm, strategy, and each other, through books, speaking, and community. You're becoming the woman your daughter is looking to for calm and strength. Let's build that.
